Department Mission

Austin Fleet Mobility Services (AFMS) provides safe and reliable mobile solutions to ensure the continuity of City services to our residents. Fleet administers the complete life-cycle for over 7,700 city vehicles and pieces of equipment, over 42 fuel sites, and over 282 electric vehicle charging ports. From incorporating advanced automotive and emerging technologies, to the adoption of flexible and sustainable multi-modal solutions, Fleet's goal is to prioritize continuous improvement in the delivery of services to the residents of Austin.

Strive to achieve and maintain on-time completion for preventive maintenance on City vehicles.
Convert and optimize the City fleet to maximize sustainability and efficiency.
Maximize the fleet's ratio of alternative fuel to traditional fuel issued.
