| Purpose: |

Under minimal supervision, this position provides advanced audio, video, and digital darkroom processing and other multimedia services within the Forensic Science Department. Applies advanced photography, video, and/or digital imaging techniques to items associated with criminal investigations or court proceedings. |
| Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
| |
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Provides digital or printed forensic casework and administrative images.
- Conducts routine image maintenance and quality control.
- Performs media conversions and enhancements to support law enforcement investigations.
- Creates demonstrative materials for law enforcement and the courts.
- Prepares graphics, audio, video, and/or photographic exhibits.
- Maintains and operates a suite of still camera and video equipment
- Supports evidentiary documentation.
- Operates photo finishing
- Maintains equipment for and performs audio and video duplication processes.
- Provides creative and graphics support for department publications.
- Processes court ordered expunctions.
- Supports training of new employees.
- Coordinates unit purchases, management requests, and equipment maintenance/ trouble-shooting.

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of various photographic equipment including automatic and manual functions of digital and video cameras.
- Knowledge of film, photo finishing, color printing equipment and digital imaging processes.
- Knowledge of proper evidence handling procedures.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances.
- Knowledge of City practices, policies, and procedures.
- Skill in using computers and related software applications.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to determine best method of obtaining photographic picture.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with city employees and the public.

| Minimum Qualifications: |
| |
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job plus three (3) years of multimedia experience.
- Multimedia experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of two (2) years.
- Thirty additional semester hours from an accredited college or university in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
- Graduation with a Master’s or an academic doctorate degree in a related field may substitute for experience up to two (2) years.

| Licenses and Certifications Required: |

- Valid Driver’s License
- Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Certification Level 1 Forensic Video Analysis & the Law or equivalent.
