Purpose: |

Under general supervision, this position organizes and manages programs in volunteer services. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Conducts needs assessment study.
- Develops and conducts ongoing, in-service training programs.
- Coordinates division's training of personnel.
- Recruits, interviews, and selects volunteers.
- Supervises and coordinates volunteer activities.
- Writes news and periodical articles.
- Prepares and writes statistical Reports.
- Conducts orientation session for new employees.
- Schedules and records reservations for meeting rooms and spaces.
- Compiles data and information for reports, cost estimates, etc.
- Prepares work schedule.
- Trains personnel in performance of job tasks.
- Delivers speeches to civic and community groups.
- Performs other tasks as required.

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: |

Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of community organizations.
- Skill in dealing with the general public.
- Skill in maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with other City employees and the public.
- Ability to recruit, screen and assign volunteers to appropriate tasks or projects.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years of experience related to the job.
- Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
