Purpose: |

Under the direction of the Deputy General Manager, this position performs generalized operational, financial, administrative, and systems management functions; and is responsible for providing managerial support to the Deputy General Manager in achieving strategic goals and objectives. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Participates in long- and short-range organizational planning activities for Electric Utility Business Units.
- Coordinates and leads cross-functional teams in discussions related to work culture, safety, and environmental business unit projects.
- Manages, monitors, and reports out on the progress of Business Unit cultural and change initiatives.
- Develops, maintains, and monitors Business Unit budgets; and assists in creating, compiling, and completing all budget documents for Executive presentation.
- Manages purchasing procurement process and monitors contract services to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Assists in the development of operational policies and procedures that are consistent with Austin Energy, City, and departmental polices and operating procedures.
- Recommends potential solutions or alternatives to critical business issues and presents them to the Executives for approval.
- Prepares and presents reports and oversees the design of visual presentation materials including charts and graphs to accompany reports.
- Acts as the interdepartmental liaison for the Deputy General Manager with other City departments.
- Works closely with senior leaders and Executive staff to develop creative solutions purposed to address the evolving needs of the changing workforce.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, plus four (4) years of experience in a project or program management capacity.
- Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
