Quality Specialist

Purpose:
 

Under general supervision assists with supporting quality assurance, continual improvement, and risk mitigation activities for business units within the organization.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Assists with projects related to the development or improvement of organizational programs, processes, and systems.
  2. Uses quality assurance methodologies to assist with current state analysis assessments.
  3. Assists with continuous improvement projects for business units within the organization.
  4. Assists with risk mitigation evaluations to improve organizational performance.
  5. Assists with assessments of organizational systems and processes.
  6. Assists with organizational change efforts.
  7. Assists with the development and implementation of continual improvement training activities.
  8. Supports the organizations quality center of excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Knowledge of continual improvement methodologies.
  • Skill in communication in a variety of formats including print and oral.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships.
  • Ability to look at situations systematically.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex information.
  • Ability to understand recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus one (1) years of experience related to the job.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification may substitute for required experience.
