Purpose:
 

Under general supervision serves as a subject matter expert related to continual improvement activities which includes quality assurance, process improvement and risk mitigation activities within the organization.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Supports projects related to the development of improvement of organizational programs, processes, and systems.
  2. Uses quality assurance methodologies to assist with current state analysis assessments.
  3. Conducts continuous improvement projects for business units within the organization.
  4. Supports risk mitigation evaluations to improve organizational performance.
  5. Conducts assessments of organizational systems and processes.
  6. Supports project teams and organizational change efforts.
  7. Conducts continual improvement training.
  8. Supports the organizations quality center of excellence.
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
 

May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of performance measure development analysis.
  • Knowledge of applicable City of Austin, State, and Federal statutes, ordinances, and codes.
  • Knowledge of City practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Skill in communication in a variety of formats including print, oral and formal presentations.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other City employees and the public.
  • Ability to look at situations systematically.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and apply detailed and complex information.
  • Ability to implement recommendations.
  • Ability to identify and analyze system faults.
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus three (3) of experience related to the job.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
