Purpose: |

Under general supervision serves as a subject matter expert related to continual improvement activities which includes quality assurance, process improvement and risk mitigation activities within the organization. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Supports projects related to the development of improvement of organizational programs, processes, and systems.
- Uses quality assurance methodologies to assist with current state analysis assessments.
- Conducts continuous improvement projects for business units within the organization.
- Supports risk mitigation evaluations to improve organizational performance.
- Conducts assessments of organizational systems and processes.
- Supports project teams and organizational change efforts.
- Conducts continual improvement training.
- Supports the organizations quality center of excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of performance measure development analysis.
- Knowledge of applicable City of Austin, State, and Federal statutes, ordinances, and codes.
- Knowledge of City practices, policies, and procedures.
- Skill in communication in a variety of formats including print, oral and formal presentations.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other City employees and the public.
- Ability to look at situations systematically.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply detailed and complex information.
- Ability to implement recommendations.
- Ability to identify and analyze system faults.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus three (3) of experience related to the job.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification may substitute for two (2) years of experience.
