Purpose: |

Under minimal supervision, the position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, upgrading, change management and repair of the District Cooling Plant Industrial Controls Systems and Infrastructures, to include Power Production. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Performs 24/7 operation and maintenance of the District Cooling Plant Industrial Controls Systems and infrastructures, to include Power Production.
- Configures and administers software and hardware applications, operator workstation, alarm system and plant database systems.
- Monitors and troubleshoots the industrial control systems and network performance.
- Designs and implements automation solutions for critical businesses.
- Coordinates and communicates with system operations, dispatchers, engineers, and field crews to troubleshoot plant control systems or network system issues.
- Implements vendor security patches, system issue fixes, and OS patches in all related plant control system.
- Generates and analyzes technical data reports for internal and external customers.
- Develops necessary procedures to save, retrieve and recover databases from hardware and software failures.
- Assists in planning, designing, procuring, and delivering software and hardware purchases.
- Implements network security procedures and ensure compliance of all security policies and standards.
- Evaluates network performance and health checks, implements tuning improvements and performs network sizing estimates.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |
|
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of hardware, software, and network infrastructure for a TCP/IP Network.
- Knowledge of Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, local HMI and SCADA systems, data historization, and other automation products.
- Knowledge of networking and internet protocols and connectivity issues.
- Knowledge of industry and department best practices, requirements, and policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of system capacity planning.
- Knowledge of current database technologies for ICS(Industrial Control System).
- Experience with ladder logic, function block diagram, structured text, and other programming/scripting languages.
- Experience with data presentation using Microsoft Excel and Pi Datalink Experience with industrial control networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, and Modbus.
- Experience with integration of third-party control systems.
- Experience with temperature and flow measuring instrumentation.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
- Ability to effectively participate in multiple projects or project capacities in a team environment.
- Ability to accurately identify/determine customer needs and take appropriate actions and/or steps to address identified needs.
- Ability to give, receive, or share thoughts, ideas, perspective, and data to create shared understanding.
- Ability to perform a root cause analysis.
- Skill in design, development, installation, and maintenance of plant fiber network.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job, plus (2) years related experience.
- Experience may substitute for education up to (4) years.
