Purpose: |

Under general supervision, perform routine building and equipment maintenance tasks in repair, installation, maintenance and construction for electrical, electronics, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electromechanical systems in all AUS facilities. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Inspects buildings and equipment for needed repairs and maintenance. Performs minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
- Assists trade crews in the completion of assigned work orders, including materials ready, performs preventative maintenance inspections, repairs, and new equipment installation activities.
- Assists with performing system diagnostics, calibrations, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Operates various hand and power tools to include drills, grinders, sanders, power saws, sewer machines, pro-press, shop vacuums, water jetters, etc.
- Performs semi-skilled carpentry work in the construction/repair of walls, ceilings, flooring, etc.
- Repairs and replaces electric plugs, switches, ballast, lamps, fixtures, and cords.
- Repairs and installs door hardware/closures, kick plates, handles, locks, and crash bars.
- Performs simple plumbing installations and repairs such as install or repair faucets, unclogs drains, replaces valves, commodes, urinals soap and towel dispensers.
- Performs basic service on pumps, air handlers, cooling towers; repack bearing, change oil and filters, lubricate motors, gear boxes and pumps.
- Assists in repairing system equipment and components using ariel man lifts.
- Performs operations and maintenance tasks including confined space entry and works in hazardous environments.
- Maintains records of repairs, calibrations and tests and records the information in the Asset Management System (AMS).
- Reads profiles/blueprints.
- Performs maintenance and inspections on fire extinguishers.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus four (4) years of facility maintenance, equipment maintenance, or construction work, two (2) of which was in heating/air conditioning, electrical, electronics, electro-mechanical or plumbing systems. Relevant work experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years. |
Licenses and Certifications Required: |

State of Texas Class "C" Driver’s License.
