Purpose: |

Under general direction, supervise the activities of an assigned public health and/or human services program. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Conduct planning, development and evaluation of assigned program.
- Provide supervision of program implementation.
- Perform grant writing and management of grant budget.
- Collaborate with community based organizations.
- Promote program and provide program information to community.
- Provide educational and community awareness presentations.

- Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of the area of specialization.
- Knowledge of current principles and practices of planning and program implementation.
- Knowledge of organization and administration of public health and/or human service programs.
- Knowledge of program monitoring and policy analysis.
- Skill in effective oral and/or written communication.
- Skill in resolving problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgement.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other City employees and the public.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree plustwo (2) years of experience in a field related to public health/human services programming, planning or program management, one (1) year of which was in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of the required work experience.
- Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum substitution of four (4) years
