HIV Outreach & Education Supervisor

Purpose:
  Responsible for the planning, daily supervision, administration and quality control of programs provided by HIV educators, outreach staff and case management
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Provide direction and problem solving strategies.
  2. Plan and evaluate programs and materials.
  3. Prepare and monitor budgets.
  4. Write quarterly reports, procedure manuals, project objectives, evaluation tools, strategic plans, brochures and other publications.
  5. Write and monitor grants.
  6. Respond to site visits and audits from funding sources in a responsive manner that promotes continued funding.
  7. Make public presentations to various groups, including TV and radio.
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
 
  • Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Knowledge of HIV services, resources, etc.
  • Knowledge of current principles and practices of planning and program implementation.
  • Knowledge of organization and administration of public health and/or human service programs. staff.
  • Knowledge of program monitoring and policy analysis.
  • Knowledge of social work practices.
  • Skill in effective oral and/or written communication.
  • Skill in resolving problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgement.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other City employees and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years of experience in a field related to public health/human services programming, public health/human services planning or program management . One (1) year of which were in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Masters degree may substitute for one (1) year of the experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  None.
