Medical Regulatory Auditor

Purpose:
  Maintain conformity with rules or principles or usage; impose regulations on various practitioners, and providers of immunization medical services to Austin/Travis County Childcare facilities, Registered Family Homes and Private and Public Schools for compliance with the current Texas Board of Health Immunization Requirements for Children and Students attending Texas Public and Private Schools, Childcare Facilities and Institutions of Higher Education, as assigned by Texas Department of State Health Services.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Schedule, conduct and lead field immunization record audits.
  2. Conduct informational interviews and meetings with Childcare directors, school nurses, principals, and superintendents
  3. Schedule, conduct and lead Texas County Retrospective Immunization School Survey and validation surveys in Public Schools, as assigned by Texas Department of State Health Services.
  4. Collect, record, compile and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data, extracting information that is significant to the audit or project.
  5. Apply basic methodologies to the evaluation of data such as content analysis and spreadsheet analysis.
  6. Develop and write clear, concise, timely, and accurate written summaries and informational reports.
  7. Use collected information to support conclusions, and write and implement Corrective Plans in non-compliant facilities.
  8. Refer non-compliant facilities for legal action to the proper state agencies (e.g. DFPS and Texas Education Agency).
  9. Consult and work closely with multiple State agencies.
  10. Provide technical assistance to customers.
  11. Assist Refugee Health Screening Clinic with medical record preparation, and assist other Immunization Program efforts by staffing Shots for Tots Clinics, Back-to-School and Flu Clinics as needed

  • Ability to maintain current knowledge in newly developed and approved vaccines available to the community
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job plus two (2) years of experience in quality assurance, medical records, immunization records, or performing programmatic audits.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
