Purpose: |

Responsible for management and maintenance of all electrical metering operations at Austin Energy. Develop section activities for complex metering, procurement, field operations, test and repair of electric meters, and translations/billing/records. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Determines required equipment specifications and evaluate proposed equipment for addition to the electric metering systems
- Oversees quality assurance and calibration activities
- Reviews all system upgrade proposals and plans to assure compliance with appropriate codes and regulations prior to purchase.
- Interprets technical drawings and information and manufacturer specifications and assess potential impact on current metering system reliability.
- Meets schedules through efficient and effective utilization of assigned resources.
- Provides management of construction and maintenance activities by Austin Energy and contracted staff.
- Develops and monitors O&M and CIP budgets
- Ensures compliance with all Local, State and Federal regulations and codes

- Knowledge of technical aspects of electric distribution systems.

- Knowledge of evolving utility industry regulation and competitive trends and their impact on Austin Energy.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, eight (8) years experience in a field related to the job, three (3) years of which were in a supervisory capacity.
