Electrical Maintenance Superintendent

Purpose:
  Under minimal direction, responsible for the management and maintenance of staff providing strategic oversight of electrical maintenance systems which includes AE and selected COA electrical, lighting and HVAC systems.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Provides managerial oversight of electrical maintenance operations which include, planning, design and maintenance of electrical and HVAC systems for customers.
  2. Establish expectations for maximizing process effectiveness of design, work management and construction activities, equipment and systems in a productive, economic, and safe manner within constraints of internal policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as external regulatory requirements.
  3. Evaluates and monitors departmental and interdepartmental accountability and productivity to guarantee team delivers needs of customers.
  4. Review Capital Improvement and Operation & Maintenance budget reports and associated performance and cost drivers to determine areas for improvement or cost reductions. Conducts operational cost benefit analyses.
  5. Responsible for correct any gaps either in reporting data or managing process compliance issues; devises the necessary quality control measures to track the effectiveness of operations
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
 
  • Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems construction and maintenance;
  • Knowledge of HVAC construction and maintenance
  • Knowledge of utility financial, regulatory and managerial accounting system,
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and environmental requirements
  • Skill in interpreting technical drawings and manufacturer specifications
  • Skill in calculating construction and maintenance resource needs
  • Ability to develop and manage comprehensive maintenance programs
  • Ability to manage internal and external forces
  • Ability to communicate commitment to environmental, health and safety policies and practices
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus eight (8) years of experience related to the job, two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
 
  • State of Texas Master Electricians and HVAC licenses
