Purpose:
 

Under general direction, supervise the activities of assigned WIC clinics within service area.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

1. Develop appointment schedules for assigned clinics including additional hours,    maximize resources and ensure Scheduling Center has the most current schedules.
2. Assist Management in conducting analysis of business needs, determine regular and temporary staff assignments based on the analysis and assess coverage daily, reassigning staff as needed.
3. Review and approve Supervisory staff performance evaluation of clinic staff.
4. Address and resolve customer complaints and ensure action plan is implemented to prevent reoccurrences.
5. Address and resolve facility issues and assist Management with new clinic, clinic relocation, and clinic modification projects.
6. Conduct quality assurance activities including but not limited to observation and evaluation of services, records and facilities, development and implementation of corrective action plans and analysis of customer service satisfaction.
7. Research, develop, and implement standardized best practices/processes to all sites.
8. Assist Management in developing/revising local policies, procedures and plans as needed.
9. Conduct PFA studies, analyze data and implement any changes needed to improve clinic efficiency.
10. Coordinate, provide and/or assign program outreach to the community including educational and community awareness presentations and media contacts (radio, television, and print) in cooperation with PIO.
11. Participate in, conduct and attend required meetings/trainings.
12. Assist with monitoring performance and productivity based budget.
13. Provide clinic services as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

• Knowledge of supervisory techniques and principles.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, City, and local policies and regulations that pertain to WIC services.
• Knowledge of principles and practice of nutrition, breastfeeding physiology, anatomy, and counseling and training techniques.
• Knowledge of public health programs, social services and client needs.
• Knowledge of quality review practices and procedures.
• Skill in providing nutrition and breastfeeding education and excellent customer service and support.
• Skill in handling multiple tasks, organizing and prioritizing.
• Skill in using computers and related software applications.
• Skill in handling conflict and uncertain situations.
• Skill in engaging stakeholders and facilitating accurate requirements to capture and manage stakeholders’ expectations.
• Ability to assess current operations on an ongoing basis.
• Ability to work with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to train others.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas, effectively, clearly and concisely with others.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with persons from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, education, racial, ethnic and professional backgrounds; managers, co-workers, and members of the public and professional groups.

Minimum Qualifications:
 

• Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Food and Nutrition plus three (3) years of experience in a field related to Nutrition or Dietetics, public health/human services planning or program management, (1) one year of which was in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
 

Valid Class C Texas driver’s license.
Completion of all required WIC modules during the probationary period.
