Purpose: |

Under general supervision, organize and manage programs in volunteer services. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Conduct needs assessment study.
- Develop and conduct on-going in-service training programs.
- Coordinate division's training of personnel.
- Recruit/interview/select volunteers.
- Supervise/coordinate volunteer activities.
- Write news/periodical articles.
- Prepare/write statistical Reports.
- Conduct orientation session for new employees.
- Schedule/record reservations for meeting rooms/space.
- Compile data/information for reports, cost estimates, etc.
- Prepares work schedule.
- Train personnel in performance of job tasks.
- Deliver speeches to civic and community groups.
- Perform other tasks as required

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: |

- Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal
|
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of community organizations.
- Skill in dealing with the general public.
- Skill in maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with other City employees and the public.
- Ability to recruit, screen and assign volunteers to appropriate tasks or projects

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years of experience related to the job.
- Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years
