Purpose: |
|
Under general supervision, ensures compliance of the Airport Security Program, City's Ground Transportation Ordinances, Airport Rules and Regulations and the City's Parking Ordinances at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Provides security, information, and assistance to airport patrons, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and to the Department of Aviation's and the City of Austin's employees and customers. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Patrols assigned areas to ensure assigned areas are secured and to provide surveillance, act as a deterrent, summon Law Enforcement, and respond to security related incidents
- Provides general information regarding motels, bus services, courtesy cars, limousines and locations of various government and/or business offices
- Provides supervision of the staging area, i.e., oversee cab drivers and shuttle buses in the staging area, collect and account for ground transportation revenues, balance register when necessary, receive and resolve complaints, etc.
- Issues citations for violation of Ground Transportation and Parking Ordinances
- Testifies in municipal court as necessary regarding issuance of violation notices
- Monitor vehicle flow to the Terminal Building, direct traffic, and provide crowd control services
- Operates, inspects, and maintains computerized equipment and report maintenance problems to the appropriate personnel
- Conducts ID checks at controlled Air Operations Area (AOA) access points.
- Monitors and operates electronic doors, gates, security systems, etc.
- Controls commercial ground transportation vehicle parking holding, loading/unloading
- Implements first-in/first-out policy in assisting individuals with their transportation needs
- Ensures all required permits, including chauffeur licenses are properly posted and current
- Ensures that no unauthorized vehicles are parked within designated proximity of the Terminal Building
- Verifies and inspects access media to determine its validity
- Conducts visual vehicle inspections and vehicle searches
- Identifies, verifies and ensures that all persons entering secured areas, restricted areas, Security Identification Display Area (SIDA), and loading dock areas display the appropriate access media, are granted clearance to secured areas, and/or are under approved escort

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of related experience.

Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
- Valid Texas Class C Drivers License
