Purpose: |

Provides animal care, customer service, and mediates animal-related complaints. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Receives, handles, and kennels animals of all species including those of unknown temperament, aggressive, sick, and injured.
- Maintains relevant written and electronic records.
- Enters and retrieves information regarding animals’ behavior, health, and kennel needs.
- Monitors animals’ physical conditions and reports illness and injury of animals to appropriate staff.
- Attends training and maintains certifications.
- Assists other personnel, law enforcement agencies, and other organizations as necessary.
- Cleans, disinfects, and maintains animal kennel areas.
- Provides animal husbandry as set by ASO procedures.
- Performs daily and nightly inventory and health check of all animals at the Austin Animal Center location.

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing Skill in planning and organizing
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities Ability to quickly recognize and analyze irregular events
- Ability to adhere to disease management and safety protocols.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus one (1) year of work experience including six (6) months experience related to the job.
- Any combination of related education and experience may be substituted.

Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
