Market Research Analyst

Purpose:
  Under general direction, responsible for directing and managing specific research projects.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Analyze existing and potential products/service markets
  2. Define project scope, select analysis techniques, etablish project time-lines, and investigate methods, costs of distribution, and advertising
  3. Designate and lead cross-functional teams to complete the research.
  4. Collect and analyze data on established and prospective customers and on competitors.
  5. Analyze customer expectations in support of new product/service development
  6. Interpret and report market conditions and potentials
  7. Coordinate work with contractors and manage contracts with third party research vendors
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Knowledge of project management, database and spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of market research standards, practices, and techniques
  • Knowledge of economic and statistical analyses
  • Skill in interpreting and reporting complex business data
  • Skill in coaching and teaching employees
  • Skill in the use of statistical software, e.g. SPSS and SAS
  • Ability to develop and maintain corporate image and professional relationships
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand competitive challenges facing a monopoly in transition
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to business, economics, marketing, statistics, social sciences, plus four (4) years of experience related to the job.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years
