Revenue Measure and Control Supervisor

Purpose:
 

Under general supervision, provides supervisory oversight of field services crew responsible for performing electric and water meter related activities Austin Energy service areas.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

1. Responsible for approving work schedules, managing the day-to-day activities for the day and/or night crews.
2. Responsible for approving the budget, purchasing and inventory required to perform operational duties.
3. Works closely with the Customer Care billing unit and Customer Care Contact Center to resolve and respond to customer issues regarding the meter reads.
4. Provide reports to management team tracking meter read activity, for normal and peak time operations.
5. Liaison with with management to resolve employee and customer relations issues in the field. Liaison with the Meter Services Shop to ensure reporting of meter that have been tampered, or requires repair is submitted in a timely manner.
6.  Manages the fleet and tools required to perform the day-to-day operations. 
7.  Participates in the strategic planning initiatives for the Revenue Measurement team. Provides information to management responding directly to inquiries from leadership and training to field crew, serves as the liaison between supervisor and staff.
8.  Serves as a member of a team working with the Meter Services Investigator to resolve operational processes, policies, and procedures including misreads, etc.

Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Knowledge of applicable processes, techniques, and methods for metering.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Local laws, and ordinances
Knowledge of city practice, policy, and procedures.
Knowledge of supervisory techniques and principles.
Skill in handling conflict and uncertain situations.
Skill in using computers and related software applications.
Skill in operating assigned equipment/vehicles
Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with city employees and the public.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
Ability to train others.
Ability to read electric and water meters
Ability to use had held meter reading computer equipment
Ability to lift up to one hundred pounds
Ability to carry and grip steel tools, and to grasp, reach, pull, or push meters

Minimum Qualifications:
 

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus five (5) years experience in a field related to the job, including one (1) year experience in a lead/supervisory capacity.

Licenses and Certifications Required:
 
  • Valid Texas Class C Drivers License
