Purpose: |

Under general supervision, develop, coordinate, and manage projects for special metering applications or other programs. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Develops, coordinates, monitors and evaluates projects related to remote read, self read or other special metering applications or utility programs.
- Serves as liaison between Austin Energy and other City of Austin meter shops and consumer services divisions.
- Coordinates efforts among Austin Energy divisions related to the special program/project.
- Checks meter or other related equipment for proper operation, safety and/or needed maintenance.
- Performs needed maintenance on utility equipment.
- Maintains database of special program customers and other related information and records using personal computer.
- Responds to citizen questions and requests for assistance.

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of utility programs or project management.
- Skill in planning and organizing, knowledge of computer spreadsheet software.
- Skill with use of hand and power tools.
- Skill in project/program development
- Skill in interpersonal and public relations.
- Skill in oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus five years experience in a field related to the job.
- Education may substitute for experience up to four (4) years
|
Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
- Valid Texas Class C Drivers License.
