Purpose: | |||
Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager, responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and maintaining economical and efficient transportation services for the City of Austin. |

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: | |||
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. 1. Plans, organizes, directs, and promotes transportation activities including transportation planning, field operations and transit. |

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: | |||
Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal. |

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: | |||
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Knowledge of current modes of ground transportation, including street and traffic operations, bicycle systems, pedestrian requirements, and mass transit operations. |

Minimum Qualifications: | |||
Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering, Business, Public Administration, or a closely related field, plus ten (10) of related experience, five (5) of which were in a managerial capacity. |

Licenses and Certifications Required: | |||
Valid Texas Class C Drivers License. |
