Purpose: | |||
Under general supervision, responsible for program support and customer assistance in the day-to-day activities associated with Austin Energy’s Green Building and Sustainability division initiatives. | |||
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: | |||
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. 1. Provides program support to inform, educate and promote interest in green building and sustainability initiatives to enhance the focus on conservation and life-cycle approaches to sustainable construction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and the efficient use of materials and natural resources. |

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: | |||
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed. Knowledge of green building and sustainability construction technologies, methods and practices. Knowledge of safety practices and procedures Knowledge of construction materials, practices and procedures. Knowledge of customer service operations, techniques, and processes Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing. Skill in using computers and related software applications. Skill in data analysis and problem solving. Ability to learn various aspects of the electric utility industry and business operations Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with city employees and the public. |

Minimum Qualifications: | |||
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus one (1) year of experience related to construction, energy efficiency, or green building. Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years. |
