Purpose: |

Under general supervision, coordinates electric infrastructure inspection as related to pole attachments on Austin Energy infrastructure.
|
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Performs attachment identification and preconstruction activities with authorized pole attachment entities to assure compliance with attachment agreements and right of way requirements.
- Coordinates inspections of new attachments, relocation of existing attachments and pole attachment inventory tracking to assure Austin Energy records reflect actual construction of non-electric pole attachments.
- Identifies, inspects, and measures attachment heights of all non-electric attachments on Austin Energy poles.
- Expedites, reviews, and inspects attachment requests for new projects to ensure ready to work by proposed attachers.
- May gather information such as GIS coordinates, height, attachment inventory, compliance before and after construction of new or modified infrastructure.
- Assists in creating and updating work orders.
- Reviews prints and researches accuracy to improve construction coordination.
- Advises customers and contractors of project timelines, review turnaround and related tasks.

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of one-call process and distribution construction methods
- Knowledge of general safety and safe work practices
- Knowledge of construction activities
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code and associated rules, regulations, ordinances and standards associated with overhead distribution
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in using computers and related software applications
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with city employees and the public

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus one (1) year of experience in a field related to the job, such as survey helper, distribution or utility construction, or GIS Technician.

Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License or ability to aquire one by date of hire.
- Ability to produce and maintain an acceptable driving record.
|
Physical Requirements: |
|
- Moderate. Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying or using a force equal to lifting 30 pounds or greater.
