Purpose: |

Under general direction, perform tasks in the review, analysis, preparation, presentation, management and problem-solving of non-compliant code cases for the purpose of achieving compliance and or case resolution |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Researches and reviews case information such as photos, zoning maps, City codes, plats, permits, plans and specifications of residential and/or non-residential structures and properties to coordinate and facilitate administrative and judicial actions aimed at achieving compliance with City codes.
- Confers with property owners, property managers, occupants, architects, engineers, designers, contractors, developers and the general public on code requirements and compliance processes.
- Assists in responses to inquiries and requests for information regarding code cases involved in the judicial process.
- Communicates with internal and external customers to gain and share information, request assistance and problem-solve issues related to code cases being prepared for or involved in judicial processes.
- Coordinates and facilitates notification of staff regarding their required attendance at meetings and/or hearings for cases being prepared for or involved in judicial processes.
- Gathers, compiles, and prepares case exhibits, case information and other relevant materials needed for judicial hearings.
- Prepares, distributes and posts public notice and other required notices to internal and external customers regarding pending judicial hearings and the results of judicial hearings.
- Assists in presenting code cases at judicial hearings
- Prepares and maintains records for code cases involved in the judicial process.
- Assists in the development of procedure and policy manuals related to judicial processes for code cases.
- Assists the Law Departments Affirmative Litigation Team with the preparation of Code Compliance cases

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws.
- Knowledge of city practice, policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of structural principles and building practices.
- Knowledge of basic floor plans, engineer's drawings and site/plot plans.
- Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
- Skill in using computers and related software.
- Skill in data analysis and problem solving.
- Skill in planning and organizing.
- Ability to perform analyses to determine compliance with or deviation from applicable codes.

- Ability to apply code requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees, and the public.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations.
- Ability to maintain records and prepare written reports. .

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job.
- Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years.
