Exhibit Coordinator

Purpose:
  Under general supervision performs tasks in the development and implementation of exhibits and exhibit activities,
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
1. Leads volunteers, staff or contractors.
2. Examines objects to be included in exhibits.
3. Ensures accuracy in exhibit production, information and exhibit activities.
3. Develops long range and short range goals.
4. Coordinates, plans, develop designs, produces and evaluates exhibits, displays, and visual presentation materials.
5. Develops and monitors budgets and fiscal reports.
6. Ensures timely development, scheduling and performance of exhibit activities and projects.
7. Oversees the day-to-day management and care of assigned collections, exhibits, records, and exhibits assets.
8. Allocates and purchases resources
9. Coordinates the design and creation of marketing materials.
10. Researches and applies for grants.
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
  May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training, and guidance to others.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques.
Knowledge of the principles and methods of showing, promoting design techniques, ideas, systems or products, including artistic contributions.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws.
Knowledge of city practice, policy and procedures.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resources allocation.
Knowledge of fiscal planning and budget preparation.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
Skill in using computers and related software.
Skill in data analysis and problem solving.
Skill in planning and organizing.
Ability to lead and train others.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other City employees and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
  Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Art History, Art, Museum Science or related field plus one (1) year of experience related to the development and implementation of exhibits and exhibit activities.

Experience may substitute for the education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  None.
