Court Operations Supervisor

Purpose:
  Under general supervision, supervise daily operations of a 24 hour Municipal Court Unit.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
1. Designs and implements systems and procedures to ensure uniform record maintenance, system updating, and quality control.
2. Provides information/data to court staff and the public.
3. Researches special issues concerning court processes and procedures and make recommendations to management.
4. Develops and monitors unit budget.
5. Participates in strategic and long-range planning.
6. Compiles statistical and financial information.
7. Prepares bank deposit, research and resolve discrepancies.
8. Coordinates unit procedures/policy with other court units,
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
  Responsible for the full range of supervisor activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling and recommendation for dismissal.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of law and legal principles and practices relevant to Municipal Court.
Knowledge of criminal enforcement proceedings.
Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws.
Knowledge of city practices, policy and procedures.
Knowledge of fiscal planning and budget preparation.
Knowledge of supervisory and managerial techniques and principles.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
Skill in using computers and related software.
Skill in data analysis and problem solving.
Skill in planning and organizing.
Ability to interpret policies and guidelines as they relate to municipal government.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees and the public.
Ability to exercise discretion in confidential matters.
Minimum Qualifications:
  Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to Criminal Justice or Business Administration plus two (2) years of relevant work experience, one (1) of which was in a lead or supervisory capacity.

Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of four (4) years

  None.
