Purpose: |

Under general direction of the Economic Development Manager, promotes economic development within the City, including the Emerging Technology Program. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Solicits and assists in the development of economic business plans for public improvement, redevelopment projects and private companies.
- Assists Economic Development Manager in performing economic duties with private developers.
- Meets and works with citizen committees, neighborhood associations, non-profit groups, and special interest groups.
- Analyzes real estate investment projects.
- Assists in the negotiation and development contracts with private developers.
- Assists in monitoring and managing all activities that could possibly have an impact on economic development projects.
- Assists in attracting domestic and international businesses and manages business retention and expansion efforts in conjunction with economic development partners.
- Provides assistance with small business development initiatives, and other economic development, redevelopment and/or capital improvement projects.
- Assists in marketing and promoting emerging technology and economic development.
- Analyzes data and makes specific recommendations including strategic planning and implementation.

- Knowledge of economic principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of real estate feasibility.
- Knowledge of project development, scheduling and monitoring.
- Knowledge of the principles involved in urban land development.
- Knowledge of real estate financing.
- Knowledge of project development, scheduling, and monitoring.
- Knowledge of venture capital, angel investment, and other financing strategies for technology and other startup companies.
- Knowledge of municipal and private sector budgeting, accounting, and finance methods.
- Knowledge of current technology industry and trends.
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws.
- Knowledge of city practice, policy and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to Real Estate, Finance, and Public Administration or in a field related to the job.
- Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.
