Purpose: |

Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative and technical functions related monitoring and maintaining the City's automated fueling infrastructure
|
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Maintains adequate critical fuel supplies for the City of Austin.
- Monitors automated fuel system, including fuel inventories, fuel transactions and tank levels of all fuel sites.
- Issues purchase orders, orders fuel, schedules replenishment of fuel site inventory and maintain fuel site records.
- Maintains functionality of the automated fueling system. Maintain and repair fueling equipment including but not limited to dispensers, automated tank gauges, storage tanks, hoses and nozzles.
- Schedules preventative equipment maintenance, responds to regular and after-hours fuel spills, site failures and customer reports, troubleshoots malfunctions using computerized diagnostic tools, provides corrective maintenance and coordinates with equipment vendors to correct and/or repair fuel system malfunctions.
- Assists Fuel Program Manager with fuel infrastructure planning; create performance specifications for required products or services.
- Act as the designated party and point-of-contact with all federal, state and local governing bodies
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state and program mandates, directives, rules and regulations and assists with site inspections.
- Performs quality assurance review of vendor repairs and coordinates alternative fuel testing services.
- Provides customer service, issues fuel cards and assists department staff with the purchase of fuel products.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: |
|
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of quality control methods, job standards, and work order processing.
- Knowledge of fleet fuel operations, fuel pricing, fuel equipment and fuel inventory management.
- Knowledge of current and emerging technologies in fuel and alternative fuel.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Skill in using computers and related software applications.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and fuel laboratory testing results.
- Ability to provide hands-on training to personnel.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a field related to the job plus two (2) years of experience in a field related to fuel operations.
- Experience may substitute for education up to two (2) years.

Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
- Appropriate level of driver's license and certifications as specified for the individual's job.
- TCEQ Underground Storage Tank Operator A/B Certification
