Purpose:
  Under general direction operates the golf shops.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
1. Over sees the operation of a golf shop, providing for retail sales, cart rental, range balls, assignment of tee times, collection of green fees, and oversight of golf play, coordination of tournaments and leagues, and maintenance of golfers' handicaps
2. Explains and answers questions about the rules and regulations of golf
3. Assists in the development and implementation of promotions
4. Assists in the oversight of the physical condition of the golf shop
5. Monitors the collection of golf course related fees and sales
6. Ensures proper record keeping and adherence to established business controls and audit requirements

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
 
May provide leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training and guidance to others

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
Knowledge of golf courses and golf shops.
Knowledge of City practices, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of supervisory and managerial techniques and principles.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
Skill in using computers and related software applications.
Skill in planning and organizing.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.
Ability to keep records and handle money properly.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other city employees and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
  Associate's degree or equivalent amount of college credits in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks Administration, or related field, plus one (1) year of related experience.

Experience may substitute for education up to the maximum of two (2) years
Licenses and Certifications Required:
  Valid Texas Driver's License.
