Purpose: |

Under general direction from the Deputy Director of Economic Growth & Redevelopment Services Office, provide leadership and management of the City's music related programs and services. Facilitate collaboration of all invested parties to ensure success of programs and services. |
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Preserves and enhances Austin's status as "Live Music Capital of the World".
- Plans short and long term strategies.
- Fosters economic and community music program development.
- Explores creation of and implements new programs and services.
- Arranges liaisons with the Music Commission.
- Manages and administers music programs and contracts.
- Coordinates functions related to music and economic development.
- Provides requested reports of program and service activity.
- Prepares and makes presentations to public committees, commissions and groups

- Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal

- Knowledge of the principles and practices of the music industry and industry partners.
- Knowledge of trends in the music industry.

- Knowledge of city practice, policy and procedures.
- Skill in oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus three (3) years of related work experience.
- Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years
