Corporate Research Analyst

Purpose:
  Under minimal direction, this position is located in the Human Resources Department and provides City Management, department executives and managers/supervisors in the assessment, design research instrumentation and methodology, make recommendations based on statistical data and present results for city-wide survey projects including but not limited to ICMA, HealthPlus, Listening to the Workforce, and exit interviews.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
1. Collaborates with executives, management and/or project teams to determine issues and identify their business objective, establish parameters for gathering information, analyze results for a variety of city-wide and/or departmental specific projects.
2. Determines appropriate methodology, plans, designs, and test research instrumentation and evaluate data to assess reliability and validity of data. Conducting research studies using questionnaires, surveys, interviews, observation methods, case readings. Analyzes trends, polices, procedures using statistical data
3. Designs methodology for tracking data using various software programs. Conducts complex analysis to determine long term trends. Formulates strategy for managing issues using statistical data
4. Authors, edits technical reports using details to support research findings. Provides results and explains research data with other departments, agencies or specific technical groups. Provides technical guidance and advice to various audiences regarding the methodology and results.
5. Provides guidance, consults, makes presentations and makes recommendation using statistical data.
6. Coordinates issues with management and other targeted audiences, serves on committees working with specific research projects.
7. Reviews legislation, regulations, and policies to determine city impact of research results

Ability to gather and analyze data.
Ability to assess information and summarize findings.
Ability to establish database to maintain or track data.
Ability to author technical documents.
Minimum Qualifications:
  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or related field, to include twelve (12) semester hours involving or related to statistics and two (2) years of experience in a research field.
Or
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or related field and one (1) year of experience.
