Under general supervision, provides notification to citizens that are not in compliance with court orders
|
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Locates and delivers processes to individuals with outstanding court fines, fees and costs to the Municipal Court; makes contact with individuals and explains the steps necessary to resolve their court case
- Distributes door hangers to defendants’ residence
- Locates accurate residential and /or employment addresses for individuals with outstanding warrants and/or commitments
- Initiates special projects to clear class “C” misdemeanor warrants and/or commitments
- Provides the Austin Police Department with warrant worksheets
- Performs administrative duties
- Conducts investigations
- Writes and submits reports

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of applicable processes, techniques, and methods.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, Local laws, and ordinances governing court procedures, legal procedures, Class C misdemeanors.
- Knowledge of city practice, policy, and procedures.
- Skill in excellent oral and written communication.
- Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
- Skill in using computers and related software applications.
- Skill in data analysis and problem solving.
- Skill in de-escalation techniques.
- Skill in handling conflict and uncertain situations.
- Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in priorities.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus six (6) years’ experience with Court processing services and two (2) years of Peace Officer experience on file with Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
|
Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
- Valid Texas Class “C” Drivers’ License
