Marketing Supervisor

Purpose:
 

Responsible for supervising and coordinating the programs, daily activities, operations, and personnel in marketing, communications, and design functions.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  1. Provides leadership and guidance to online, digital, and social media marketing projects and initiatives ensuring that all activities align with Marketing Communication Plans.
  2. Ensures that departmental, Council-mandated, and customer program goals are met.
  3. Manages implementation of marketing initiatives and identifies new marketing opportunities.
  4. Coordinates all aspects of the development and production of marketing materials.
  5. Forecasts, monitors project budgets, and assesses workloads of programs.
  6. Develops process flows, creative briefs, and ensures brand governance/compliance.
  7. Coordinates and collaborates with stakeholders and vendors.
  8. Ensures that external vendors meet quality and financial standards. Coordinates payments of invoices and works with the purchasing department to develop and maintain contracts for large purchases.
  9. Provides analytics review of marketing communication campaigns and return on investment (ROI).
  10. Manage the department's records throughout the lifecycle in compliance with the City's Records Management Ordinance.
Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised:
 

Responsible for full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
  • Knowledge of leadership and coordinator techniques and principles.
  • Knowledge of public information, marketing, public relations, and media relation programs.
  • Knowledge of fiscal planning and budget preparation.
  • Knowledge of the functions and organization of municipal government, to include the relationships between departments, divisions, and agencies.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard graphic design tools, and their use and application.
  • Skill in written and oral communication.
  • Skill in concept development, collaboration, research, problem solving, time management, and presentation.
  • Skill in planning, coordinating, and implementing programs and activities.
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks and prioritizing.
  • Skill in social media strategy and execution.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple programs, projects, and priorities.
  • Ability to interpret policies and guidelines.
  • Ability to lead projects from creative conception to delivery.
  • Ability to lead and train others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other City employees and the public.
Minimum Qualifications:
 
  • Graduation with a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Marketing, Business, Public Relations, or related field plus four (4) years of experience, including two (2) years of experience in a lead/coordinator capacity.
  • Experience may substitute for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
