Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: |
|
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Provides daily general leadership to areas of responsibility.
- Assists with organizing, directing, and coordinating the daily tasks of the administration and operations programs, projects, and activities of assigned division.
- Monitors the planning, development, and evaluation of the assigned programs including implementation and coordination of external services.
- Assists in conducting analysis on Division and programs for effectiveness, goals, discrepancies and opportunities for improvements. Proposes and plans for recommendations for improvements.
- Assists with developing and monitoring division budget, including preparation of short- and long-term goals. Recommends major purchases and expenditures, developing specifications for product, price, and services to be received.
- Provides support for developing, reviewing, revising, and approving policies and procedures for division programs.
- Interprets, explains, and ensures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, ordinances, and Federal and State regulatory requirements.
- Facilitates, conducts, and attends meetings; and represents the division, department, and City.
- Coordinates division/section activities with outside contractors.
- Provides technical expertise on a variety of division activities/programs.

Responsibilities - Supervisor and/or Leadership Exercised: |

Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal. Directly manages three (3) or more service center managers.

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.
- Knowledge of Fleet management services and programs.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws.

- Knowledge of fiscal planning and budget preparation.
- Knowledge of purchasing and contract monitoring practices, procedures and policies.

Minimum Qualifications: |
|
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a relevant field of study, plus six (6) years of progressively responsible experience of directing, planning, and organizing in a large division, including at least four (4) years of experience must be in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Experience may substitute for the education up to the maximum of four (4) years.

Licenses and Certifications Required: |
|
Requires a valid “C” Texas driver license. If required, must obtain an appropriate Commercial Driver License.
