Prevent injuries, loss of life, and property damage through public education and code enforcement.
Meet the challenges of an expanding metropolitan area by providing effective emergency response that grows and adapts.
Recruit a diverse workforce and provide professional development training to prepare and deliver equitable and safe emergency responses.
Develop resilient, fire-adapted communities through wildfire preparedness, fuels mitigation, and specialized response to brush fires.

  1. Number of free smoke alarms installed
  2. Percent of customers satisfied with the quality of AFD services
  3. Percent of emergency incidents where amount of time between call receipt and arrival of AFD unit is 8 minutes or less
  4. Percent of structure fires confined to room of origin
  5. Percent of sworn positions fully staffed
  6. Percentage of high risk areas covered by a localized Community Wildfire Protection Plan
